Crane Pose (Bakasana)
Take a note from the elegant crane. Poetry in motion and masters
of balance.
This asana will stretch out the entire length of your back,
building strength in your shoulders, arms and joints as well.
And, like the fascinating crane, you will exhibit improved coordination,
focus and balance.
Procedure:
- Place your hands flat on the floor. Lift your heels and
shift your weight to your hands.
- Lift your feet off the floor, keeping your balance on your
hands. Stretch out your back, elongating it in the direction
of your chin and pelvis at the same time.
Quietly inhale and exhale, focusing on a spot you have selected
before you.
As you become more proficient, hold this pose for longer periods
of time, stretching out your back more, little by little.
